When you meet Julz Ossom, you discover quickly why he’s garnered a well-known reputation as a modern day renaissance man within the African music scene. A business marketing strategist, entrepreneur, consultant & advisor in the creative culture of African music, Ossom has earned the respect of who’s-who in the artistic, social and political landscapes of Canada for his vision.
Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Ossom sharpened his music industry chops early on as a popular Afrobeat radio DJ. From that growth, he founded Ghanamixtapes.com in 2003 as a labour of love, but which exponentially grew to be the pioneering digital platform for African mixtape culture online. The site to this day serves as a milestone for new, up and coming and established African music artists looking to reach audiences near and wide, with thousands of hits monthly.
Glen J. (Vice President)
Mr. Glen Joseph is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and successfully help to grow several companies as a lifestyle multi-media marketing consultant with over 25 years of experience in the apparel and entertainment industry.
He has a gift to identify economic opportunity, human talent and with his analytical abilities gives him insightful knowledge of marketing experiences. Mr. Joseph leverage his talents to create networks of visionaries and result driven experts in the development and delivery of high-performance solutions to business of all sizes to be efficient, cost-effective, and competitive.
Richmond Bondsu (Executive Board)
Owner and founder of Afro Entertainment, an event planning and Management Company. Afro Entertainment has positioned itself as a leading producer in live events from the world of African entertainment to Canadian audiences.
With over 15 years in both commercial and charitable initiatives, Afro Entertainment’s success can be seen in several hugely popular city events including Ghana Fest, Afrobana, the African Youth Summit and the hugely popular All White Canada Day Affair.
Yinka Farinde (Executive Board)
The name Omoniyi Adeyinka Farinde may not ring a bell but at the mention of “Chief” Yinka Farinde, then the name is to be reckon with in the African music industry and the Nigerian Community in Canada. He is among the first person to be honored with the title of “Chief” by the Nigerian community In Canada. Recognized as charitable business leader and multitalented entertainer in the African Diaspora community.
“Chief” Farinde spent the first years of his career in Toronto, Canada working as an entertainer and music teacher. Learning the entertainment industry was key to his development as an entrepreneur, he not only structured and executed building several companies for clients, but successfully managed his entertainment promotion company and now is founder and CEO of the Abedorc Production Media.
Rayon Brown (Executive Board)
Rayon Brown is a seasoned community development business professional, deeply driven by the holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, human rights, inclusion, social justice, self- determination and collective action. Currently, Rayon Brown is the Community Economic Development Director of Helping Neighbourhoods Implement Change - a non-profit organization deeply rooted in under serviced communities; to equip individuals with tools and resources; and build their capacity through training and mentorship.
